I’d pick the Indigo over the Westin if it were me. It will be safer along Peachtree where the hotels you mentioned are, rather than around Centennial and immediately outside the Aquarium (at night). With not everyone back in the office and fewer visitors, I imagine that is probably more noticeable these days. So if you walked around at night it wasn’t iffy because of sketchy people, it mostly just felt like there wasn’t a crowd to ward off anything bad happening. Pre-Covid, it would pretty much empty out around 6p when the office folk went home and most of the attractions closed. Downtown isn’t so much a bad neighborhood as it can feel unsafe because it feels so…empty.
